Our Nursery

Welcome to the information page for our Nursery, open to children aged 3-4 years.

We look forward to welcoming your child to Foundation Stage 1 (FS1) where we will help them to become inquisitive and independent learners through playing and exploring together.

  • Morning sessions run from 8.30am–11.30am.
  • Afternoon sessions run from 12.30pm– 3.30pm.
  • 30 hours funded childcare sessions are available, running from 8.30am–3.30pm. If you would like your child to stay for the full day, there will be an additional cost of £3.50 per day for supervision over lunchtime. Alternatively, parents can collect their child for the lunchtime hour and return them to school for the afternoon session.
  • Unfortunately we are unable to offer breakfast and after school club wraparound care for Nursery pupils.
  • Children can start at our Nursery on the Monday following their 3rd birthday (if a place is available).
  • The maximum number of children at our Nursery in FS1 is 13.
  • We will follow the oversubscription process when we reach capacity.
  • We accept childcare vouchers to cover morning and afternoon sessions but these cannot be used to cover the cost of lunchtime supervision.
  • There is no charge to parents who are eligible for funded childcare hours.
  • 15 and 30 hours of funded childcare per week is available. Please check your eligibility here: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.
  • Please note that we only provide all mornings, all afternoons or full time provision.
  • For 30 funded hours, your child will need to attend both morning and afternoon sessions.
  • For 15 funded hours, your child will attend either all morning or all afternoon sessions. We require children to attend the same 5 sessions each week; children cannot switch between morning and afternoon sessions.
  • If you are using 30 funded childcare hours and you would like your child to stay at Nursery for the full day (8:30am-3:30pm), we offer one hour lunchtime supervision cover for £3.50 per day. This runs from 11.30am-12.30pm and does not include a meal, please see the Meals and snacks section below.
  • Additional sessions can be purchased depending on availability. These are charged at £16 per half day session (morning or afternoon), which includes the lunchtime cover hour. Unfortunately, additional sessions can only be booked to cover a full week (30 hours) – we cannot offer additional sessions on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Children will receive a free daily snack (a piece of fruit or vegetable) and a carton of milk.
  • If you would like your child to stay for the full day, you will need to provide your child with a packed lunch. We encourage healthy eating at school and ask that your child does not bring sweets to school except on special occasions. No fizzy drinks are permitted. We are a nut-free school and kindly request that you are vigilant and ensure your child does not bring any food into school that may contain nuts or nut traces.
  • Our FS1 school uniform consists of a white polo top, grey pinafore or grey trousers, red cardigan or grey V necked jumper and black shoes. Children will also need a PE kit which is red / white round neck t shirt / red / black shorts or red /grey jogging bottoms and trainers.
  • School jumpers and T-shirts embroidered with the school emblem are available to purchase through:
    S & A Uniforms, West Bridgford.
    Tel 07970 875671
    Email: s-a.uniforms@ntlworld.com
  • Alternatively, uniform items can be purchased from major supermarkets/stores. Occasionally our Parents’ Association runs a second hand uniform sale. Please contact the School Office if you require assistance with second hand school uniform.

There is a cost for any trips outside of school. These will depend on quoted travel costs (coach/train) and entry fees applied by the venue, but we aim to give parents plenty of notice of any costs related to trips.
