Our Nursery

Welcome to the information page for our Nursery.

We look forward to welcoming your child to Foundation One (F1) from 3 years old where we work with them to help them develop into inquisitive and independent learners through playing and exploring together.

  • Morning sessions are 8.30am–11.30am
  • Afternoon sessions are 12.20pm– 3.30pm.
  • 30 hours sessions are available, 8.30am–3.30pm. There will be an additional cost of £3.50 for supervision over lunchtime.
  • Children can start on their 3rd birthday (if available).
  • Maximum number of children at our nursery in F1 is 13.
  • We will follow the oversubscription process when we reach capacity.
  • We accept childcare vouchers to cover morning and afternoon sessions but not the cost of lunchtime or after-school clubs.
  • There is no charge to eligible parents for the funded hours.
  • These are 15 hours or 30 hours per week. Please check your eligibility here: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
  • For 30 funded hours, your child will attend both morning and afternoon sessions.
  • For 15 funded hours, your child will attend either a morning or afternoon session. We expect children to attend the same 5 sessions each week. These sessions can not mix between morning and afternoon sessions.
  • For 30 hours provision, we offer one hour lunchtime cover for £3.50 (11.30am-12.30pm, no meal included, see Meals and snacks below) if you would prefer you child to stay on for their afternoon session.
  • Additional hours can be purchased depending on availability. These are charged at £16 for half a day session which includes the lunchtime cover hour. Unfortunately, this must be for the full week and we cannot offer it as an ad-hoc basis.
  • Children receive a free daily snack (a piece of fruit or vegetable) and a carton of milk.
  • You will provide your child with a packed lunch.
  • A white polo top, grey pinafore or grey trousers, red cardigan or grey V necked jumper and black shoes. Children will also need a PE kit which is red / white round neck t shirt / red / black shorts or red /grey jogging bottoms and trainers.
  • School jumpers and T-shirts embroidered with the school emblem are available through:
    S & A Uniforms, West Bridgford.
    Tel 07970 875671
    Email: s-a.uniforms@ntlworld.com
  • Alternatively, uniform items can be purchased from major supermarkets/stores. Occasionally our Parents’ Association runs a second hand uniform sale. Please contact the School Office if you require assistance with second hand school uniform.

There is a cost to trips outside school. These will depend on quoted travel costs (coach/train) and entry fees applied by the venue, but we aim to give parents plenty of notice of any costs related to the trip.

How to apply

To apply for a place, please complete the Nursery admission application below and return it to the school office:

SEC Nursery Application Form 2026 27

If you are applying for a 30 hour placement, you will need to apply for an eligibility code here.

We endeavour to provide a Nursery education for all children who apply, but in the case of oversubscription, the School Admission Criteria is used to allocate places as follows:

  1. Catholic looked after or previously looked after children including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  2. Catholic children living in the Parish of the Annunciation served by the school.
  3. Catholic children living outside the Parish of the Annunciation served by the school.
  4. Other looked after or previously looked after children including those children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  5. Catechumens, Candidates and members of Eastern Christian Churches.
  6. Children of other Christian denominations whose membership is evidenced by a minister of religion.
  7. Children of other faiths whose membership is evidenced by a religious leader.
  8. Any other children not within categories 1-7.

In the event of over subscription in any category, places will be awarded in the first instance to those living nearest to the school based on a straight-line measurement from the school boundary closest to the child’s home.

Our admissions policy

The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy.

All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.

Please note that we only provide all mornings, all afternoons or full time provision.
